We are seeking to purchase and develop Abacus House as a new home for the Bridge Church.
Ever since we began meeting together in 2012, we have been praying for a permanent base in Pontprennau and Pentwyn as we seek to worship God and share the good news of Jesus together.
Over the past 14 years, we have met together on Sundays and during the week in lots of different places, and we are so grateful to God for his provision and blessing. We are particularly grateful for the provision of Pontprennau Primary School, and the opportunity to build a great relationship with them, which we hope to maintain and strengthen in the future. However, without a permanent base, there are challenges too.
We believe God is leading us to pursue Abacus House – a two-storey office building near Lidl and Waitrose, right on the boundary between Pontprennau and Pentwyn. We believe this is a building that will enable us to gather in worship, to grow and equip disciples of Jesus, train and send missionaries and other gospel workers, and demonstrate God’s love to our community.
The Bridge Church was founded upon the gospel of Jesus Christ, which tells us of God’s goodness and love. Please pray with us that Abacus House might enable us to proclaim this wonderful story in Cardiff, Wales, and the world for generations to come.

The cost of the building is significant! We are so grateful for God’s provision, through the generosity of so many – including our members and regulars, and gifts from Highfields Church when we first planted. We currently have funds for a deposit, and plan to take out a mortgage to cover the balance. In addition to the purchase costs, we will need funds to reconfigure the offices for use as a church building. This is a lot of money – but we believe it is a worthwhile investment in God’s kingdom work, and we trust God to provide what we need.

FAQs
Why spend so much money on a building which could be used for other good endeavours?
Great question! There are lots of things we could do with the money (both a deposit and mortgage payments for several decades). As a church, we have prayed for God to provide our practical needs and to help us make wise decisions over many years, and believe that this building is an answer to those prayers.
Read our Reflections on Church Buildings to see what the Bible says about church buildings and why we believe this purchase will be helpful for our worship and witness.
I’d like to ask more questions about the building – how can I get in touch?
Of course! Please speak to any of the elders, or you can email building@bridgechurchcardiff.org.
